This video will show you how to install an SSL Certificate on a WordPress Website so that your site shows as https secure rather than http unsecure.
Here are the individual steps shown in the video:
- Buy an SSL Certificate at Namecheap or similar.
- Go to cpanel of website > SSL/TLS > Generate Certificate Signing Request
- Copy Encoded Cert Signing Request (including the —Begin etc)
- In Namecheap (or where you bought the SSL) > Account > Product List. Find new SSL > Activate
- In Enter CSR, paste the copied cert > Next > Choose cpanel > Choose DCV method > email [***DON’T CLICK NEXT***]
- Back to cpanel Email Forwarders > Set up forwarder (if needed) to forward to your normal email)
- Back in Namecheap, choose email address just set up, click Next > Next > Review & Submit
- Wait for validation email. Click link and paste code in email.
- Wait for certificate email > Copy cert code
- Back to cpanel > SSL/TLS > Install and Manage SSL > Select domain > Paste code > Click Autofill by Cert > Install Cert
- Login to WordPress > Plugins > Add New > Find and install Really Simple SSL plugin > Activate
